Job Description

Reporting to:             Operations Manager

Hours of work:          Monday to Friday – 45 hours per week

Location:                    Operating from Head Office as well as visiting client premises within a geographical area.

Job Scope

To provide effective leadership and management of a team of Operators, delivering a high level of customer service across the operational base. To manage the team in line with agreed company processes and to effectively communicate across all company departments. To adopt a retail approach across the machine fleet in your defined area to maximise sales and revenue. To train and develop the team, check quality on a regular basis, and continually looking for areas of improvement.

Responsibilities

The list below details the requirements needed to carry out your job to the highest levels and standards. The Company may, from time to time, change or amend the requirements, but this will be in consultation with you and agreed by both parties, beforehand.

You will be required:

Staff Management

  • To manage the operating team, to ensure that all machines are filled, cleaned, serviced and merchandised to the required standards laid down by the AVA health and hygiene training and accreditation guidelines, whilst maintaining and developing Company guidelines, to optimize operational efficiencies to maximise profitability.
  • To increase the quality of the team, through good recruitment, training and development, and through the effective coaching, leading, and managing a team of people.
  • To ensure appraisals and professional development of staff is effectively maintained and adhered to.
  • To ensure staff follow the guidelines in place in the Staff Handbook and their Core Competencies.
  • To manage poor performance and misconduct quickly and effectively to reach a positive outcome for the business whilst following the company’s disciplinary procedures.
  • To manage attendance and sickness absence in line with the appropriate Company policies.
  • To undertake regular Machine Audits in the field on a monthly basis to ensure Customers’ machines are maintained and serviced in accordance with the AVA’s guidelines in the operator’s handbook. Report any findings where standards not met and deal with accordingly.
  • Operator’s stock rotation and levels in vehicles, on sites, and in machines are in accordance with agreed standards and report any findings where standards are not met. Where the standards are not met, deal with accordingly.
  • Products in machines comply with used by date legislation. If products are found out of date to report findings and deal with accordingly.
  • To follow the Companies weekly reporting procedures and achieve the departments KPI’s.
  • To be responsible for ensuring stock and cash control is maintained within your team.
  • To carry out spot checks on machines, vehicles and staff to ensure standards are maintained. 
  • To be responsible for monthly Team Performance meetings and individual one to one review meetings with every member of the team at least four times a year.
  • To be responsible for communicating departmental or company information via meetings, field accompaniment, verbal or written within agreed timescales to customers and your manager.
  • To adhere to administrative processes and procedures whether paper based or electronic and ensure they are completed accurately at all times within the guidelines set.

Customer Management

  • To increase revenue and profit across each customer and the area, working together with other departments, to grow the business and each account.
  • To use your initiative to maximise product throughput and increase sales.
  • To identify opportunities to grow the company’s exposure in each customer to work as a partner rather than a supplier.
  • To meet the customer where required to build relationships between client and customers.
  • To visit all new customer sites prior to any new machine installations and introduce the Operator.
  • To communicate both internally and with clients, any changes needed to enhance our high-quality customer service delivery.
  • To ensure the highest level of customer service is given across Connect’s range of refreshment solutions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • To comply with all Company and Statutory regulations regarding Health and Safety, and to make yourself aware and observe all relevant health and safety rules and procedures on customer sites.
  • To maintain the company’s vehicles in accordance with the servicing schedules. The vehicle must be kept in a satisfactory road-worthy condition at all times. The vehicle must be kept clean and tidy both inside and out at all times. Any defects must be reported to the Operations Manager immediately.
  • To comply with the laws of the road, drive carefully and considerately at all times and hold a current clean driving licence.
  • To perform other duties and manage other projects as required, according to the needs of the business.
  • To comply with all Company and Statutory regulations regarding Health and Safety, and to make yourself aware and observe all relevant health and safety rules and procedures on customer sites.
  • You will be required to attend any relevant training courses, conferences or meetings as requested by the Company but this will be discussed with you beforehand and as much notice as possible will be given in order for you to make any personal arrangements as necessary.
  • To adhere to any reasonable management request outside normal working hours. Again, as much notice as possible will be given.
