ANT Recruitment Ltd ("ANT", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We are the data controller of the personal information described below. Our registered office is 11 Brindley Place, Brunswick Square, Birmingham, B1 2LP. You can contact us at danielle@antrecruitment.net.
1. What data we collect
Candidates. Name, email address, phone number, CV, preferred engineering sector, right-to-work details, salary expectations, and any other information you choose to share during the application process.
Employers. Name, email, phone, company name, role requirements, and details of the hiring brief.
All visitors. Technical data captured automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referral source. We also store UTM tracking parameters (e.g. utm_source=linkedin) in your browser's localStorage for up to 30 days so we can measure which channels work. You can clear this at any time via your browser settings.
2. Why we process it (lawful basis)
- Contract. When you apply for a job or register a hiring brief, we process your data to perform our contractual services.
- Legitimate interests. To match candidates to relevant roles, improve our service, and operate our business. We balance these interests against your privacy rights.
- Consent. For optional marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation. Where required to comply with UK employment, tax, or anti-money-laundering law.
3. Who we share data with
We share your data only with these trusted processors:
- Manatal — our applicant tracking system (CRM), hosted in the EU.
- Resend — our transactional email provider, used to send application notifications.
- Microsoft 365 — our business email and document storage.
- Vercel — our website hosting provider.
- Prospective employers — only with your explicit permission and only for roles you have agreed to be put forward for.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertising networks or social media platforms.
4. International transfers
Some of our processors (such as Resend) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on UK International Data Transfer Agreements or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum to ensure your data remains protected to UK GDPR standards.
5. How long we keep it
- Active candidates: while your profile is relevant to the UK engineering market, typically up to 5 years, after which we review or delete.
- Placed candidates: 7 years after a placement (UK limitation period for contract disputes).
- Employer contacts: while the relationship is active, plus 7 years.
- Website analytics / UTM data: 30 days in browser storage; aggregated channel data retained longer for business reporting.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Have your data erased (subject to our legal retention obligations).
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, email danielle@antrecruitment.net. We aim to respond within 30 days.
7. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
8. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary storage (e.g. first-party localStorage for UTM tracking so we can attribute traffic and measure what works). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at antrecruitment.net/privacy. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered candidates and employer contacts.
