Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Machinist / Welder to support workshop operations across marine and industrial projects. This role involves precision machining, fabrication, and welding, ensuring all components are produced and repaired to high technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and repair mechanical and marine components to precise specifications.
  • Operate manual machinery including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Carry out precision machining to tight tolerances.
  • Perform TIG, MIG, and stick welding across a range of materials.
  • Support breakdown repairs, modifications, and custom fabrication work.
  • Maintain workshop standards, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist wider yard and engineering teams as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in machining and welding within marine, heavy engineering, or similar environments.
  • Strong capability operating manual workshop machinery.
  • Experience working to technical drawings and tight tolerances.
  • Competence in multiple welding techniques (TIG, MIG, Stick).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices within a workshop environment.
