We're working with a well-established marine engineering business in the Caribbean, looking for a hands-on Senior Machinist / Welder to play a key role in their workshop operations. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of your work, contribute to a growing operation, and work on a wide range of marine and mechanical projects.
The Role
You'll be responsible for precision machining, fabrication, and welding across a variety of marine and industrial components. This is a practical, workshop-based role where your ability to problem-solve, work independently, and deliver quality work will be key.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manufacturing and repairing high-spec mechanical and marine components
- Operating manual machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses)
- Carrying out precision work to tight tolerances
- Performing TIG, MIG, and stick welding across multiple materials
- Supporting breakdowns, modifications, and custom fabrication projects
- Maintaining workshop standards, tools, and equipment
- Assisting wider yard and engineering teams when required
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in machining and welding (ideally 10+ years)
- Experience in marine, heavy engineering, or similar environments
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of tasks
- Ability to read drawings and deliver accurate, high-quality work
- Solid all-rounder with both machining and welding capability
